A good nights sleep is always easier said than done in today’s society. We look for OTC sleep aids that are horrible for our health, homeopathic remedies and even consulting a doctor for a prescription sleep aid. A good night sleep may be closer than you think and the kicker is that it has no side effects. First, lets talk about how much sleep you should be getting.

How Much Sleep Do You Need?

Most American adults are ranging from 4-6 hrs. of sleep a night. The National Institutes of Health suggests that toddlers need 9-12 hrs. of sleep a night, school-age children need at least 10 hours of sleep daily, teens need 9-10 hours, and adults need 7-8 hours. Are you getting enough sleep?

What is sleep deprivation?

Sleep deprivation is simply a condition resulting in a lack of sleep that results in a host of responses in your body.

Sleep deprivation is accompanied by these symptoms:

  • Muscle Aches
  • Under eye bags
  • Memory loss
  • Depression
  • Malaise
  • Sensitivity to cold

Sleep loss also increases the risk of high blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, and diseases associated with these risk factors, such as diabetes and heart disease. Sleep loss also impairs performance and mood, according to the report. Depression has also been linked to sleep deprivation.

3 Ingredient Foot Spray For a Good Nights Rest:

Chamomile Essential Oil:

Roman chamomile is an ancient herb which has therapeutic properties that include sedative and relaxing properties. It is recommended for the treatment of insomnia, stress and nervous tension, so is a good choice to help you to relax and prepare for sleep. You can get chamomile on amazon by clicking here.

Magnesium Oil:

The 4th most abundant mineral in your body is also the hardest to get enough of. Less than 30% of U.S. adults consume the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of magnesium. Magnesium is one of the most relaxing minerals in the body and yet we are so deficient in it. It not only works amazing for a restful nights sleep but also for anxiety, stress and muscle aches. Combines with Lavender and Chamomile, it is a perfect trifecta for a peaceful sleep. You can get organic magnesium oil from Omica Organics OmicaOrganics.com here. Lavender Essential Oil:

One of my all-time favorites! Lavender is the goddess of relaxing essential oils. Generations have put it in bath bars, night time eye masks, pillow cases and candles to promote relaxation. Studies have shown that lavender reduces stress and anxiety by 40 percent. Personally, I use lavender on my son and myself before sleep every night and although its become more of a routine, its worked greatly for both of us.

Interestingly enough, a spray exists on the market that already includes magnesium and biodynamic lavender from Omica Organics. You can get that spray on amazon by clicking here.

  • 4 ounces of magnesium oil
  • 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil

Why a Foot spray?

One word, absorption. The feet are one of the greatest areas on the body to absorb essential oils. Your feet have some of the largest pores on your body which backs up the reasoning that it absorbs the fastest and most effectively.
