Recently I created a recipe that is just a variation of the ‘ants on a log’ recipe. Remember the ants on a log recipe? It was celery, with peanut butter in the center and then raisins on top representing the ‘raisins on a log’ as a part of the recipe.
They taste good, but I modified it a bit, just by cutting up dates and using them instead, and it tasted great.
All you’ll need is:
- Organic Celery
- Organic Almond/Sunflower/Peanut Butter
- Organic Dates
Preferably organic for each, but if you don’t have organic for all three that’s fine. All you do is cut up the celery into smaller pieces and then spread the peanut, almond or sunflower butter into the celery and then after that cut up the dates and place them on top. They taste great and the recipe is rich in minerals, protein and B vitamins for energy.
The health benefits of Celery, Dates and Almond Butter are:
- Lowers Blood Pressure
- Boosts Immune System
- Heart Health
- Antioxidant Rich
- Intestinal Health
- Boost Energy
- & More!
The end food ends up looking like this:
You will love them, your kids will love them and they are nutrient rich! Enjoy 🙂
