The energy drink industry is full of beverages containing caffeine, sugar, preservatives, additives and more. A quick way to get energy is to grab one of these energy drinks but the long term repercussions of these energy drinks aren’t worth it. In the world of energy drinks there are some energy drinks that are better options than others but it’s still smarter to instill your body’s ability to have natural energy from whole foods.

5 Hour energy might be a better option than monster energy drink or any of the others, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create an even better, higher quality 5-hour energy shot at home. Coffee is another alternative. Although quite acidic it does contain some nutritional value. The only downsides are the acidity as well as it containing a lot of caffeine which gives you a spike then drop.

If you do start your day with coffee I recommend mixing in some type of fat (such as kerry gold butter or coconut oil) to spread the rate of caffeine absorption in your body. By adding a healthy fat you cause your body to only absorb a smaller amount of caffeine at a time. This is healthier on your body and allows for a more consistent energy throughout the day as opposed to a spike and drop. Another recommended tip is to add this ingredient to coffee to mitigate it’s acidity and make it a more alkalizing drink.

If you want to avoid energy drinks all together, and even avoid a healthier version of coffee then read on. That’s what we’re sharing today. How to give your body the energy it needs throughout the day with whole food sources that are rich in vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and more. Without the crash that regular coffee or energy drinks provide.

We’ll be sharing 3 different healthy drinks that you can make at home, save in the fridge and have a shot of first thing in the morning for your health.

Supercharge Your Energy Shot With Seabuckthorn Berry Juice:

You can add a spoonful of seabuckthorn juice to this shot to supercharge it with even more energy for your brain and body. Seabuckthorn berries are orange berries that are very rich in healthy fats. In fact, they contain omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 fatty acids! This is incredibly beneficial for brain health as well as providing your body with a good range of healthy fats to burn throughout the day as a source of fuel for the body.

Seabuckthorn lowers levels of C-reactive protein in the body which helps your body handle and deal with inflammation in a healthier way. Seabuckthorn is rich in Vitamin C, E, calcium, iron, manganese, protein and amino acids. These healthy omega fats, amino acids and protein help to stabilize blood sugar levels, boost brain function and cardiovascular function throughout the day for a sustained source of energy. Seabuckthorn juice does have a very tart taste so that alone I have found really wakes my taste buds (and entire face up) for that matter.
