The job of your Colon is to process and remove toxins, impurities and so much more. It helps the blood and lymphatic system within the body. The Colon is your sort of ‘internal toxin vacuum’ created to suck toxins in from throughout the body and to remove them. The Colon along with the Liver do a great job (when they are healthy and working optimally) to remove toxins from the body.

So why is having a healthy Colon so important? A healthy Colon is important for digestive function, to be able to remove toxins and waste from the body in order for toxins and waste to not sit within the body and petrify causing even more issues. There are many benefits of having a healthy Colon that are tangible and immediate such as a flatter leaner stomach, a better digestive system, not having gas, and even having great breath! Ever meet someone who had terrible breath and you could barely stand to talk to them right next to them? Their Colon needs some work and is not healthy.

The Colon is very important, the bodies ability to remove toxins and waste and to digest properly is very important and the Colon is a very important organ when it come’s to the digestive process. Beyond having great breath, no gas or bloating and having a thinner waistline there are more important issues that the Colon can effect.

If the Colon is not working properly the bodies ability to digest and process is severely prohibited causing and wreaking a lot of havoc on the body. If the Colon isn’t working properly waste will sit within the colons (clogging them up) as well as causing more acidity and toxicity within the body to circulate as well. This will cause weight gain, an imbalanced pH within the blood and body as well as an inhibited digestive function which can lead to heart issues, Colon cancer and a variety of other problems.

The Colon is so important that some doctors like Dr. Schulze say’s that “All Disease Begins in The Colon” and he greatly stresses the importance of keeping the Colon clean, clear and healthy in order to do it’s job properly.  I would add to this that all disease begins in the Colon (and/or) Liver because these are both very important organs in the digestive process and in my eye’s really “All Disease Begins As A By-Product Of Digestive Weakness Or Failure” in some way or another.

Side Note: This website will share a lot of information on getting healthier, living healthier and making better buying decisions that help your health and help the ‘health o the planet’ as well overall, but I will also be focusing really on digestive health so if you want to learn how to improve your digestive system and processes within the body then definitely join our facebook page for updates.

Health Of The Ascending and Descending Colon

In your Colon you have the ‘ascending’ and ‘descending’ Colon.  These are just simply two parts of the Colon that make up the full “Colon” which is a large organ that runs throughout the body.  The Colon is over 5 feet long! Think it’s good to keep those pipes clean? I think so.

So how can you keep your Colon healthy and working optimally in order to stay healthy, keep the digestive system working properly and to remove toxins from the body?

Thankfully, you can do a lot of things to improve the health of your Colon which gives your health, appearance and breath multiple benefits.

The first thing that you can do is to stay hydrated by drinking enough water, I recommend spring or purified/filtered water. Staying hydrated is tough for most people because they simply do not drink enough water.  Water is an internal shower for your Colon and if you aren’t staying hydrated your Colon starts to get “B.O” Just like your body get’s “B.O.” when it is not cleaned often enough… Why?

Because when dead skin cells, pieces of undigested food, toxins and other waste builds up it will sit and petrify causing odor, gas and indigestion.  This is why it is very important to stay hydrated and get enough water in your daily routine.  Enough water keeps the Colon healthy as well as the other organs and systems in the body to keep them well oiled and lubricated.  A good rule of thumb is to drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of water each day.  If you weigh 150 pounds, drink 75 ounces of water each day.  If you workout extensively and sweat a lot or live in a warm climate and perspire more than drinking 50% of your body weight in ounces each day should be a minimum.

The next thing that you can do to improve your Colon health is to get plenty of beneficial microbes (probiotics) otherwise known in simple terms as ‘Good Bacteria’ in your gut.  I recommend getting both prebiotics and probiotics in your diet in order to keep the Colon healthy.

What are prebiotics? Prebiotics are in foods that give the body it’s own ability to grow beneficial bacteria (probiotics) on it’s own.  Two foods to include in your diet that are prebiotics are arthichoke and banana.  These both help develop your bodies natural ability for good bacteria growth in the body which will help the Colon stay healthy.

Probiotics are good bacteria that help breakdown anything that needs to be broken down, as it’s broken down and made smaller it can be removed from the body easier and quicker because of this process.  You can eat Sauerkraut, kimchi or any fermented/cultured vegetables to get probiotics in your diet.

You can also drink things like kombucha and a good clean source of non-dairy water kefir is a great source of probiotics as well.

Seeds from organic papaya (to ensure that it’s non-gmo) are actually amazing for the health of the Colon as well. The seeds from papaya contain proteolytic enzymes which are beneficial to break down proteins as well as nutrients to be used by the body. Proteolytic enzymes are very beneficial for the small intestine, a part of your Colon.

The last thing I would recommend that has helped me a lot personally in keeping my Colon healthy as well as my stomach trim and skin clear is to use Fiberzon from the amazon herb line of products.  This is a great synergistic blend of plants and herbs to cleanse and remove waste from the Colon, it works like a brush to scrub the walls of the Colon to really keep it healthy and clean.

P.S. Saurkraut, kimchi, bananas and artichokes are some of the best foods for Colon Health. Also, drinking plenty of water to keep your Colon hydrated and healthy is very important as well.
