If you live in Michigan like me, or anywhere that drops to single digit degrees or even below zero temperatures then it’s nice to combat the cold in any way that you can! Gloves, hats, scarfs, you name it. But what most people don’t know is that you can actually combat the cold through diet, by eating foods that induce thermogenesis.

Thermogenesis is the state your body is in when it produces heat beyond your regular temperature. It has to do with your metabolism, thyroid hormones and if thermogenesis is induced by eating thermogenic compounds in specific foods then you can induce your body to produce more heat on demand simply by eating or consuming these foods. I eat or drink these spices or herbs in the wintertime, add them to salads, tea’s, soups and more! They are a great addition and not only do they warm you up but they also improve metabolism to support losing belly fat as well sa boost immunity and circulation which help in so many ways.

Enjoy the video below:

The foods discussed in this video are:

1. Ginger
2. Cinnamon
3. Cayenne
4. Black Pepper

Other thermogenic foods to increase body temperature are:

* Cloves
* Horseradish
* Green Tea (Click Here To Learn How To Maximize The Nutrition in Green Tea By 10x!)
* Carob
* Wild Rice
* Quinoa

There you have it, include the above foods in your diet in the wintertime to keep your body warm, to induce thermogenesis more often and to keep your thyroid and gut health more active and harmonious. These foods improve gut health, immunity, circulation, nitric oxide levels, hormonal health and more!

Keep in mind to that thyroid health issues such as an underactive thyroid (also known as hypothyroidism) and poor circulation can affect your body temperature and you feeling cold as well, so be sure to take care of your thyroid health and eat foods that improve circulation as well.
