It’s that time of year again, the time of year when pharmacies are promoting “Get the flu shot” with signs everywhere. I remember when I was a kid I never saw any signs for flu shots, now they are plastered everywhere. It’s pushed and pushed.

Ask yourself, why is this “flu season”? well, as winter time rolls around people are outside less and they receive less vitamin d from the sunshine which is one of the best immune boosting vitamins your for your body. Less vitamin d means lowered immune function meaning you’re more susceptible to the flu or anything that the immune system would normally stop.

You have to really do your research and find the truth about flu shots, vaccines and anything else injected directly into your body as these can be extremely dangerous. You may not know that during the 2012-2013 flu season, the flu vaccine’s was just 56 percent effective across all age groups tested by the CDC. It’s a 50/50 shot that it will help you. Interestingly enough though in seniors that were 65 and over, the flu vaccines were only effective at a 9% rate.

So it may help you 50/50 when you’re younger but as you age it only becomes less effective. Why? well, what is actually contained in a flu shot?

You should know that flu vaccines are not only quite ineffective but also questionable on multiple levels for humans and animals alike.

After much reading much on on flu vaccines I found some very interesting facts. First, did you know that there are three types of flu vaccines. Two are made from egg’s, one is made from insect cells. So, flu shot’s? not vegan at all. They take proteins that cause an immune response. Oddly enough beyond saying on the website that it is made from proteins from eggs and insects it really doesn’t fully share the contents OF the flu vaccine. This poses a problem. What they did share though were the potential side effects of a flu shot.

Flu Shot Side Effects Were Listed As Follows:

  • Soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given
  • Fever (low grade)
  • Aches

The nasal spray: The viruses in the nasal spray vaccine are weakened and do not cause severe symptoms often associated with influenza illness. In children, side effects from the nasal spray may include:

  • Runny nose
  • Wheezing
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Muscle aches
  • Fever

In adults, side effects from the nasal spray vaccine may include:

  • Runny nose
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Cough

I think i’d just rather have the flu and get over it than spend time and money going to get a flu shot, what about you?

Now, use your brain for a minute. Have you ever eaten healthy, taken herbs, drank tea, gotten a good nights rest or done any natural or plant based remedies that gave you any of the side effects above to remove the flu? I never have, and have never even talked to anyone who has had side effects for boosting and strengthening immunity. Detoxifying? that’s a different story. I’ve read and heard multiple personal stories of people who have taken the flu shot and then gotten sick immediately after the flu shot! oddly enough the CDC say’s that this will NOT happen. On their website it say’s “Can the flu shot give me the flu?” the answer they give is:

“No, a flu vaccine cannot cause flu illness. Flu vaccines that are administered with a needle are currently made in two ways: the vaccine is made either with a) flu vaccine viruses that have been ‘inactivated’ and are therefore not infectious, or b) with no flu vaccine viruses at all (which is the case for recombinant influenza vaccine). The nasal spray flu vaccine does contain live viruses. However, the viruses are attenuated (weakened), and therefore cannot cause flu illness.”

To me, this is laughable at best. Ask around and see if any of your friends have gotten the flu shot and ask if they still got the flu or got the flu right after.

Thankfully you can boost immunity in many side-effect free natural ways that not only help to prevent the flu and strengthen immunity but give you more energy, vitality and health in general. Here are a few ideas:

Eat Healthy:

Lastly, get plenty of sleep and eat healthy.
